Steven Horsford, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for Nevada's 4th district, made a series of public statements through social media addressing current socio-economic issues. As a congressman, Horsford succeeded Ruben Kihuen in 2019 and had previously served in the Nevada Senate. In his tweets, Representative Horsford emphasizes concerns regarding gender pay disparity, Medicaid protection, and the importance of upholding legal principles.

On March 25, 2025, Horsford highlighted the ongoing issue of wage disparity between genders. He noted, "On average, women still make only 75 cents for every dollar earned by men—and for full-time, year-round workers, it’s 83 cents. For women of color and moms the gap is even wider." This statement underscores the gender wage gap and its amplified effect on women of color and mothers, particularly as spotlighted by the Democratic Women's Caucus on Equal Pay Day.

On March 27, 2025, Representative Horsford shared his stance on Medicaid funding. In his tweet, he sternly opposed Republican efforts to cut Medicaid benefits. He declared, "I won’t stay silent while Republicans try to gut Medicaid to fund tax breaks for billionaires. Health care for moms, babies, seniors & people with disabilities isn’t up for debate." Horsford underscored healthcare access as a fundamental right, advocating for community action against proposed funding cuts.

Furthermore, on the same day, Horsford addressed issues surrounding responses to perceived lawlessness by praising local law enforcement. He stated, "You don’t fight a lawless administration by breaking more laws – you fight a lawless administration by demonstrating that our laws exist for a reason. I commend @LVMPD for their professionalism at a time when local vandalism became a national political spectacle." Here, Horsford highlighted the role of law and order during contentious times while commending local law enforcement's professionalism.
