Rep. Steven Horsford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada's 4th district, has recently shared a series of tweets addressing concerns towards actions taken by the Trump Administration. As a congressman committed to preserving important historical narratives, Horsford critiqued what he perceives as efforts to erase Black history and hinder discussions related to systemic injustice.

On March 28, 2025, Rep. Horsford posted that "The Erasure of History by the Trump Administration: Presidents are elected to run our government—not rewrite our history. Programs that memorialize painful truths help ensure past wrongs are never revived to harm again."

Further on the same day, he expressed concern over attempts to "erase Black history and silence conversations about systemic injustice", specifically criticizing budget decisions that affect educational institutions and critical dialogues necessary for societal progress.

Rep. Horsford backed his claims by mentioning specific budgetary actions, stating, "Trump’s budget proposals slashed funding for the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Smithsonian—institutions that chronicle Black resilience and resistance."
