Rep. Steven Horsford, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nevada's 4th district, has been vocal on social media about his stance on Medicaid and its significance for Nevada residents. In a series of tweets, Horsford highlighted the potential impact of proposed GOP Medicaid cuts and shared personal stories from his constituents to underscore the importance of protecting this program.

On March 17, 2025, Rep. Horsford tweeted about the consequences of GOP Medicaid cuts, stating: "GOP Medicaid cuts to cover tax breaks for the rich will cost so much more than the $880 billion price tag. In NV alone, coverage for 811,000 people is at stake. This isn’t a budget – it’s a ‘Screw America’ bill." He emphasized that these cuts would jeopardize healthcare coverage for hundreds of thousands in Nevada.

The following day, March 18, 2025, he introduced Donna in another tweet: "Meet Donna, a devoted mother of four children adopted through foster care. Many foster children experience the lasting effects of trauma. Trauma that often requires intensive therapeutic care." Through this post, Horsford illustrated how Medicaid supports families dealing with trauma-related issues.

Later on March 18, 2025, Horsford shared Tanner's story: "Meet Tanner, a proud Las Vegas resident with a deeply personal story about the impact of Medicaid." He further stated his commitment to fighting for Medicaid protection in Nevada so families like Tanner's do not have to face such challenges alone.
