City of Mesquite recently issued the following announcement.

Mesquite Senior Games Pickleball

Event:

  • Doubles Competition
  • A casual, fun tournament for players age 50+, as of 12/31/2022.  This is a non-sanctioned tournament subject to USAPA rules with modifications.  PLAYERS MUST HAVE AN ACCOUNT ON PICKLEBALLTOURNAMENTS.COM TO PARTICIPATE.  If you do not currently have an account on pickleballtournaments.com you can create one free of charge on that website.

Schedule:

  • March 14, 15, 16, 2022
  • Check in 7am - all divisions
  • Men's doubles  -     March 14  8am start
  • Mixed doubles  -   March 15  8am start
  • Women's doubles  -     March 16  8am start

(NOTE:  slight schedule modifications may occur based on  registration levels)

Venue:

Hafen Park, Mesquite

Divisions:

  • Brackets will be based on skill level 3.0 - 5.0 (primary) and age in 5-year age brackets (secondary).  The tournament director will retain the option of combining age groups if necessary based on registrations, but skill brackets will not be combined. Brackets will have a minimum of 6 teams and a maximum of 12 teams.
  • All brackets will be round robin format with matches consisting of single games to 15 win by 2, or best 2-of-3 to 11 win by 2, at the discretion of the tournament director.   Large brackets may be broken into pools at the discretion of the tournament director, with single-elimination playoff of pool winners to determine final medals.

Medals:‍

Gold, Silver, Bronze Awarded to all brackets

Sport Fee:

30$ Registration, 10$ Event Fee

Late registrations may be accepted at the discretion

of the tournament director for a 20$ per event fee
