Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak virtually joined an early childhood roundtable hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno, in partnership with the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services.
“Childcare and early childhood education are critical priorities for my administration," Sisolak said in a release from his office. "An early investment in our kids is a long-term investment in our state.”
In addition to officials from multiple state agencies, the roundtable included early childhood providers who shared their experiences, challenges and possible solutions.
The governor is committed to helping break down barriers and looking at ways the State can invest federal funding into our childcare system in the coming year, according to the release.
“You have all heard me talk about my focus on jobs and the economy," Sisolak said. "I want to be clear to you: access to high-quality childcare and education is an integral part of that work. Bringing in good-paying jobs will not matter if families cannot afford or do not have access to high-quality childcare."
