On Friday, May 20, 2022, the Declaration of Emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic ended. The State of Emergency declaration had been in place since March 2020 and has allowed the state to respond to challenges brought forward by the unprecedented pandemic. Ending the State of Emergency ends certain flexibilities that were in place to help the state reaction to changing and unknown circumstances.
The city of Las Vegas is recruiting 10 AmeriCorps members to work with pre-school and elementary school children from May through Aug. 31, 2022. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent and be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. Clark County is hosting virtual public meetings later this month to inform residents about proposed updates to the County’s development and zoning regulations.
