Clark County Nevada recently issued the following announcement.
Local small businesses are invited to “Support Small Business Saturday,” an event showcasing small businesses and the support services and resources available to them. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center amphitheater at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway in downtown Las Vegas.
Small businesses wishing to have a presence at the event are encouraged to call (702) 455-2540 or email william.covington@ClarkCountyNV.gov at their earliest convenience since available slots are filling up fast.
In addition to an array of local vendors attending, staff from the Purchasing Department will be there to explain how local businesses can compete for Clark County contracts, and the Office of Community and Economic Development will be there to showcase new online tools to help new, established and prospective businesses interested in investing, expanding or relocating to Clark County. Business License staff also will be on-hand.
The event, organized by the office of Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, will feature live music, food trucks and raffle prizes for those small business people who provide their business cards.
“Small businesses are a critical component of the local economy and we must do all that we can to support them,” said Commissioner Kirkpatrick. “The aim of the event is to assist local businesses and increase their opportunities for success.”
