Gov. Steve Sisolak on Jan. 14 reminded Nevadans the state has a variety of treatment options for those who have a confirmed positive COVID-19 test.
A release issued by the governor’s office said the Nevada Health Response website has been updated to include information on the different types of treatments available and how to find them.
While the state is still receiving limited treatments from the federal government, the release said, it’s working with the Board of Pharmacy and other entities to secure more product for Nevadans to access.
Sisolak expressed pride in how Nevada has worked to connect its citizens to resources and treatments but cautioned that they’re not alternatives to getting vaccinated.
“I am proud of the swift actions we’ve taken in Nevada to help connect our residents to resources and treatments,” the governor said in the release. “These therapeutics help Nevadans recover from COVID-19 faster and can help prevent hospitalization and death. Treatment is not a substitution for vaccination, and we want to continue to encourage Nevadans to get vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, but if you do get sick, there are treatments available.”
