Rep. Steven Horsford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 4th district, recently shared updates on social media regarding his activities and initiatives. Horsford has been serving in Congress since 2019, after replacing Ruben Kihuen. He previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 and was born and currently resides in Las Vegas.

On February 20, 2025, Rep. Horsford announced that he would address the Nevada Legislature at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST to discuss critical issues facing the state. He invited followers to watch the speech live online, mentioning topics such as Medicaid and Medicare protection. "Every session, #NVLeg invites members of the federal delegation to give a speech. Tonight, I’ll address the Legislature at 5:00 PM PST / 8:00 PM EST to discuss critical issues facing our state."

Later that day, Horsford expressed gratitude towards members of Culinary Union Local 226 for discussing his TIPS Act with him. The act aims to protect workers' tips and prevent taxes on them. "Grateful to @Culinary226 @TedP226 & Culinary Union members for our conversation today on my #TIPSAct #NoTaxesOnTips."

In another post on February 20, he highlighted his support for service industry employees by advocating for an increase in their wages through his proposed TIPS Act. He criticized the subminimum wage of $2.13 as "inhumane" and called for legislative action to ensure fair compensation for workers while ensuring wealthy individuals contribute fairly through taxes. "Service industry employees deserve a raise. A tip is a gift, not a guarantee, and the subminimum wage of $2.13 is inhumane."
