The Ball Corporation has plans for growth for the city of North Las Vegas, with an expectation to bring over 100 jobs to the area.

The city has been working on infrastructure upgrades recently, a release said.

“Ball is promising to create 178 jobs (in North Las Vegas) with an average wage of $32.53,” April Corbin Girnus, a journalist for the Nevada Current, wrote on Twitter. “Would you like a breakdown of how that wage average was reached? Sorry. That’s considered confidential, per their app for the tax abatement.”

Ball picked the city because of its proximity to customers, access to major transportation routes, local labor pool, and business-friendly processes, a release said. A lot of businesses are growing there as well.

“Demand for our infinitely recyclable aluminum packaging continues to grow, and our new North Las Vegas plant will further expand our industry-leading North American plant network to supply our customers,” said Kathleen Pitre, president of Ball beverage packaging in North and Central America, in the release. “More consumers are enjoying their favorite beverages in aluminum cans, a package that is playing a role in the development of a truly circular economy. We are pleased to be investing in North Las Vegas and look forward to being part of our newest community.”

Ball Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, will build a manufacturing facility in North Las Vegas’ Apex Industrial Park. The project is valued at around $290 million.

The 750,000-square-foot factory’s operations will revolve around the manufacturing of sustainable aluminum packaging for beverages.
