Rep. Steven Horsford, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various political issues. Horsford's background includes prior service in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 and he is known for his policy-driven approach.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Horsford tweeted about a conversation he had with Major Garrett on CBS News. He mentioned his State of the Union guest, Yolanda from Culinary Workers Union Local 226, and highlighted his introduction of the TIPS Act. He contrasted his focus on policy with former President Trump's reliance on talking points: "I had a great conversation with @MajorCBS on @CBSNews alongside my State of the Union guest, Yolanda from @culinary226. Tips are gifts not guarantees, that's why I introduced the TIPS Act. Trump has talking points, I have policy and that's what workers are counting on."

In another tweet posted later that day, Rep. Horsford raised concerns about federal workers being threatened if they do not report colleagues involved in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts. He also noted former President Trump's suggestion to withhold federal funds from cities opposing his deportation plans: " Federal workers threatened with punishment if they don’t report colleagues continuing DEI efforts. Trump hinted at withholding federal funds from cities resisting his deportation plans."

Further emphasizing legal measures related to immigration enforcement, Rep. Horsford tweeted that U.S attorneys were instructed to prosecute officials failing to enforce immigration crackdowns: " US attorneys were ordered to prosecute officials who didn’t enforce immigration crackdowns."
