North Las Vegas Fire Department Launches Streaming Series

The City of North Las Vegas is thrilled to announce that the North Las Vegas Fire Department YouTube series following North Las Vegas Fire Department’s Fire Recruit Academy Class 22-02 has been picked up by the streaming network First Responder Network for airing.

The fire academy series was developed to give potential candidates an honest, inside look at the requirements and challenges of the fire academy. To join the ranks of the North Las Vegas Fire Department graduates must complete an intense 20-week academy that includes 120 hours of emergency medical service (EMS) training and introduces them to the skills of firefighting, hazardous materials training, vehicle extrication, leadership, customer service and community engagement.

“Our firefighters train every day to stay on top of the newest firefighting techniques, the most effective lifesaving measures and the best service they can provide our residents,” said Fire Chief Joseph Calhoun. “Creating this series to showcase what it takes to be a North Las Vegas Firefighter has not only attracted more serious recruits but has also attracted national attention from the FRN streaming network. I think that's a testament to the dedication of our team and to the ingenuity of the City of North Las Vegas. Stay tuned all, we have lots more to share.”

Download the FRN app today to follow Fire Recruit Academy Class 22-02 through their 20-week journey to becoming a firefighter for the City of North Las Vegas.
