Logandale Trails Draft Environmental Assessment BLM Comment Period

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Vegas Field Office has published the Logandale Trails Draft Environmental Assessment for the Resource Management Plan Amendment and planning documents (DOI-BLM-NV-S010-2022-0005-RMP-EA)  for public review and comment. The 45-day comment period began on September 28, 2022, and ends on November 14, 2022. The BLM is also planning a virtual public meeting to be held on October 26, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (PT).

The Logandale Trails planning area is currently managed as part of the Southern Nevada Extensive Recreation Management Area. The BLM is proposing to amend the 1998 Las Vegas RMP to designate Logandale Trails as a Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA). The proposed Logandale Trails SRMA, is located approximately 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, and west of the communities of Logandale and Overton, Nevada. The proposed Logandale Trails SRMA would include approximately 15,300 acres of BLM managed lands. The BLM has revised the previous acreage from 15,019 acres to 15,300 acres due to an error in calculations found in our GIS data while the draft EA and planning documents were being drafted.

More information can be found on the National NEPA Register and on the virtual meeting companion site:

Please share with other interested members of the public. Let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Colleen Cepero-Rios
