Beginning Sept. 1, North Las Vegas water customers will be assigned to new watering groups.
As part of its continuing effort to lead conservation efforts valleywide, the City of North Las Vegas has updated the mandatory watering groups for all residential and commercial customers within its water service area, which includes parts of Las Vegas and Sunrise Manor.
The new watering groups are geozoned, which means specific service areas are assigned to one of six groups. This will replace the previous system that was based on the last digit of a customer's address.
The map below outlines the location of the new watering groups. You can also find your watering group at SNWA.com or on the City of North Las Vegas website.
In the coming weeks, customers will receive customized watering schedule postcards in the mail reminding them of their new watering groups and assigned watering days throughout the year, along with a reminder that fall watering restrictions (water no more than 3 days per week) are in effect from Sept.1 through Oct. 31.
The City of North Las Vegas has a long-standing commitment to conservation and is a leader in using technology to reduce water waste. In 2018, the City began installing smart meters at customers’ homes to track leaks and usage in real time to address issues quickly, saving significant amounts of water and customers’ money. Other City conservation efforts/initiatives include installing smart timers for watering grass at parks, replacing water-intensive grasses with low-use varieties and using specialized recirculating pumps to capture and recycle the water used during firefighter training exercises.
