Fallon’s H&H Metal Supply Provided Steel Building for Rafter 3C

06

When Churchill County leadership wanted to build an indoor livestock and event arena, it found a perfect local vendor to supply the steel building that is now the Rafter 3C Arena: H&H Metal Supply of Fallon.

H&H Specialty Supply is a pre-engineered steel building dealer and component supplier that focuses on light commercial, agricultural and storage structures. For the Rafter 3C Arena, the company worked with county leadership to set window and door placements before supplying the steel building, exterior pedestrian doors and the insulation for the 75,000 sq. foot facility.

“Trevor Hammond of H&H had an integral role in the original design and solicitation of trade quotes at the inception of our project,” said Chris Spross, Churchill County public works director, who serves as the general contractor for the Rafter 3C.

According to Spross, Hammond and his team were a key piece in making sure the trades interacted well to erect the building and pour concrete footings throughout.

“The value of Trevor’s input and contributions far exceed the $896,000 contract we have with him,” said Spross, adding that his availability to discuss design and engineering elements of the project were vital to the success of the overall construction.

Spross also mentioned that H&H Metal Supply worked closely with Marie Henson, Churchill County’s building official, to upgrade the building’s insulation to fully utilize the benefits of the heating, venting and air conditioning system.

As a host site for livestock events, auto and equipment shows, concert/arena events, craft shows and the like, the Rafter 3C building is divided into two sections: an arena area and a concourse/gathering space in front of the arena. The bleacher seating on the concourse level allows for elevated viewing of events taking place in the arena below.

Join county leadership for the Rafter 3C Arena public dedication on June 1 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to tour Churchill County’s newest economic development facility!
