Canyon Springs High School issued the following announcement.
Are you entering Grade 11 this 2021-22 School Year? If so, start thinking about your future!
Dear Parents and Guardians:
On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, the PSAT/NMSQT will be administered to 11th grade students who register to take the exam. The PSAT/NMSQT is a good predictor of how your child may score on the SAT and is the best preparation for the SAT. The PSAT/NMSQT is not a mandatory test; therefore all 11th grade students wanting to take the exam will need to make a $20 payment to the school banker on or before Friday, September 10, 2021.
The test will take approximately three (3) hours and will be given to your child during the school day. The PSAT/NMSQT will assess your child’s academic skills in the areas of reading, writing and language, and math. These skills are considered essential for success in high school and for college and career readiness. Approximately two months after test day, your child’s score report will be available for viewing online. When scores are available, your child will receive an email from College Board with an access code to view their scores.
We encourage 11th grade students to take the PSAT/NMSQT for the possibility of being considered for the National Merit Scholarship competition. If awarded, the National Merit Scholarships provide $2,500 towards the student’s freshman year of college.
For general information about the PSAT/NMSQT, please visit collegeboard.org. Your child can simulate test day by taking a practice test at collegeboard.org/psatpractice.
To register to take the exam the student simply needs to complete the Google document by clicking here and by paying the banker, Roylivia Johnson in person at Canyon Springs High School or by making an electronic payment at our WebStore.
Thank you for your commitment to your child’s education.
