University of Nevada-Las Vegas recently issued the following announcement.
WHAT: UNLV will welcome the newest members to the Class of 2021 at its Winter Commencement.
WHEN: Tuesday, Dec. 14 at 4 p.m.
WHERE: Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV
DETAILS: Approximately 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in this winter's commencement — a class about 4% larger than last winter.
Participants range in age from 15 to 67, and hail from 37 states/territories and 45 countries. About 88% of graduates are Nevada residents, and well over half — 64% — are from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Since 1964, UNLV has awarded about 157,000 degrees. The average overall age of UNLV’s Winter 2021 graduates is 27.
Hosting his first in-person ceremony at the Thomas & Mack Center, UNLV President Keith E. Whitfield will honor several graduating students during the ceremony for their outstanding academic and community achievements.
