City of North Las Vegas recently issued the following announcement.

NORTH LAS VEGAS LIBRARY DISTRICT NOW OFFERS LINKEDIN LEARNING

The North Las Vegas Library District now offers LinkedIn Learning as part of its 25 free educational databases available to library card holders. LinkedIn Learning allows users to access more than 16,000 on-demand courses in business, tech, design and creativity.

"We are thrilled to add LinkedIn Learning to our library resources," said Library District Director Forrest Lewis. "Our patrons will be given the opportunity to advance their careers, or learn new in-demand skills, all for free and in the comfort of their own homes!"

To get started on a computer or device using a browser:

  • Have your library card ready (Don't have one? Apply for one on our eCard registration page)
  • Click on LinkedIn Learning
  • Log in with your library card number and pin
  • Explore and learn a new skill!
Certificates of Completion are also awarded for successfully completing a course so users can keep track of their learning. Some of the courses offered include, business software, design software, web design, social media and web publishing tools, photographer, business and career skills and job search skills. Normally, a subscription to LinkedIn Learning is $29.99 a month.

Earlier this year, the North Las Vegas Library District was selected as a finalist for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Award for its innovative programs and educational initiatives. Funding for LinkedIn Learning is made possible through an IMLS grant, administered by the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records division.
