Lasvegas

City of North Las Vegas issued the following announcement.

The City of North Las Vegas invites constituents, businesses, and community organizations to provide input on community needs that have developed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey, available in English and Spanish, will be available through August 20, 2021. North Las Vegas constituents are also invited to participate in listening tours with the City Council and local elected officials.

Earlier this year, Congress passed the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The $1.9 trillion package is intended to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including public health and economic impacts.

The City of North Las Vegas will receive a total of nearly $47 million in two installments, with 50% (approximately $23 million) provided in May and the balance delivered approximately 12 months later.

The 7-question survey is available online, at all North Las Vegas Library District locations, Silver Mesa Recreation Center, Neighborhood Recreation Center, SkyView Multigenerational Center, North Las Vegas City Hall, and at community events.

Constituents are also invited to share their ideas at one of four North Las Vegas listening tours. Registration for the listening tours is highly encouraged.

  • Tues, July 27 from 10am-11:30am, Silver Mesa Recreation Center (4025 Allen Lane, North Las Vegas, NV 89032) with Councilman Scott Black and Senator Dina Neal
  • Tues, July 27 from 2pm-3:30pm, Aliante Library (2400 Deer Springs Way, North Las Vegas, NV 89084) with Mayor John Lee
  • Wed, July 28 from 5pm-6:30pm, Neighborhood Recreation Center (1638 N Bruce St, North Las Vegas, NV 89030) with Councilman Isaac Barron and Senator Pat Spearman in English and Spanish
  • Thur, July 29 from 2pm-3:30pm, Alexander Library (1755 W Alexander Road, North Las Vegas, NV 89032) with Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown and Assemblywoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong.
Feedback collected from the survey and listening tours will be provided to North Las Vegas city leaders as they plan the use of funds provided through ARPA. The City of North Las Vegas is required to submit a Recovery Plan to the U.S. Treasury Department by Aug. 31 outlining how it is responding to the pandemic and promoting economic recovery.
