Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to voice concerns over healthcare access and recent political actions affecting health services for Americans.
On October 18, 2025, Horsford posted: “Raquel’s story is like so many others across my district, this fight for health care is a fight for life itself. We’re standing up for Raquel and millions of Americans who rely on the ACA and affordable care to survive. We shouldn’t be cutting health care we should be cutting tax https://t.co/McKv3n8mAN”. In this message, he highlights the experiences of constituents who depend on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and emphasizes opposition to reducing healthcare provisions.
Later that day, Horsford wrote: “Republicans are waging a war on health care. They’re shutting down rural hospitals, slashing Medicaid, and driving up premiums all while protecting billionaires. Working families are paying the price. Democrats are fighting to stop this crisis and put people’s lives before https://t.co/wyQClWDwbt” (October 18, 2025). He accused Republican lawmakers of actions that negatively impact rural hospitals and Medicaid recipients.
In another post from October 18, 2025, Horsford shared a personal perspective: “My mom is 70, I’m 32 – we both depend on Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. Watching this country get torn apart by greed and extremism breaks my heart. We just want to live without fear of losing everything.”
Steven Horsford has served as the representative for Nevada’s 4th District since 2019 after succeeding Ruben Kihuen. Before his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973, Horsford continues to reside there today. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
