Rep. Steven Horsford, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 4th district, has been vocal on social media about various pressing issues. His recent tweets address concerns ranging from veteran homelessness to public land rights and significant budgetary changes.
On May 21, 2025, Rep. Horsford highlighted the issue of veteran homelessness by stating that “The numbers don’t lie—30,000 veterans are facing homelessness.” He proposed a solution involving a 1% stock buyback tax on mega-corporations to fund essential services for homeless and at-risk veterans, emphasizing the need for action with the question, “If we won’t stand up for them, who will?”
Later that day, he expressed satisfaction over a decision related to public lands by saying “Good. Should never have been included to begin with.” He described this as a victory for Nevada constituents who deserve representation when it comes to matters concerning public lands.
In another tweet posted on May 22, 2025, Rep. Horsford addressed changes in federal budget allocations by noting that “TRUMP’S BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL NOW INCLUDES A $500 BILLION CUT TO MEDICARE.” He urged his followers to spread awareness about this significant financial cut.
Steven Horsford has served in Congress since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and residing there now, he graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
