Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues on his Twitter account on May 14, 2026, focusing on voting rights, local workers, and extreme weather in Las Vegas.

In a tweet posted at 12:00 UTC, Horsford commented on the historical challenges faced by Black voters in the United States: “The Black vote has always threatened the status quo, and those in power have always worked to suppress it. That’s not new. What’s new is our urgency. Organize in every district. Show up at every poll. Build power they cannot ignore. #NV04” (May 14, 2026).

An hour later, he recognized the contributions of hospitality workers during American Craft Beer Week and highlighted legislative efforts aimed at supporting them: “Las Vegas runs on the people behind the bar, on the floor, and on the production line. During American Craft Beer Week, we’re celebrating the workers and local businesses powering Nevada’s hospitality economy and why I introduced the CHEERS Act to help them reinvest, grow…” (May 14, 2026).

At 14:01 UTC that same day, Horsford drew attention to record-breaking heat in Las Vegas and its impact on outdoor workers: “Las Vegas just hit 104 degrees in May, breaking another heat record before summer has even officially started. And while some people can head indoors, too many Nevada workers are still out in this heat every single day. Construction crews. Hotel staff. Delivery drivers.” (May 14, 2026).

Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District since replacing Ruben Kihuen in Congress in 2019 and previously served as a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013.[source] Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there,[source] Horsford earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.[source]
