Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on March 11, 2026, addressing local workers, economic indicators, and food assistance developments.
On World Plumbing Day, Horsford acknowledged the contributions of skilled trades workers in his district. In a post at 14:11 UTC, he stated: “On World Plumbing Day, we recognize the skilled trades workers who keep our communities running. Across Nevada’s Fourth District, plumbers and other skilled labor professionals play a critical role in protecting public health by ensuring families have access to safe water,”.
Later that day at 15:50 UTC, Horsford commented on recent employment figures: “A new jobs report shows the U.S. economy lost 92,000 jobs in February. This is just the latest sign of a slowing labor market. With job losses occurring three times in the last five months, the warning signs are clear: working families are facing growing uncertainty while costs”.
At 16:30 UTC on the same day, he addressed federal food assistance changes affecting residents in Nevada: “Federal food assistance has been restored for about 43,000 Nevadans through April 30 after a lawsuit temporarily waived new SNAP work requirements. Many families briefly lost access to benefits when the new rules took effect, highlighting how quickly policy changes can impact”.
Steven Horsford has served as U.S. Representative for Nevada’s 4th district since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019 and previously held office in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born and residing in Las Vegas since his birth in 1973, Horsford earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
