Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on August 6, 2025, highlighting local economic contributions and raising concerns about rural health care policy.

In his first post of the day, Horsford celebrated Latino business leadership in Nevada: “Proud to celebrate the @latinchambernv with @CityOfLasVegas, honoring founder Otto Mérida and President Peter Guzman. Latino-owned businesses are vital to our economy and help power thriving communities across #NV04. #LatinoBusiness #EconomicOpportunity” (August 6, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Horsford addressed federal health care policy affecting rural areas. He wrote: “Proud to join @RepTeresaLF in demanding answers from HHS on the Rural Health Transformation Program. The admin is bragging about a $50B rural health fund while ignoring the $1T in health care cuts baked into the same law. Rural communities can’t be “transformed” if they’re gutted” (August 6, 2025).

In another tweet posted that evening, Horsford commented on tax policy impacts for rural Nevadans: “From Nye to Esmeralda to Lincoln County rural communities are the heart of Nevada.

I joined the Nye Communities Coalition to talk about how the Trump Tax Law is hurting these communities.” (August 6, 2025).

Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District in Congress since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there, he graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
