Rep. Steven Horsford, U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s 4th district, used his social media platform on November 3, 2025, to highlight community efforts addressing food insecurity and to express concern over national security issues.
In a post published at 19:16 UTC, Horsford visited a local organization and stated: “Stopped by the Hands of Hope Community Food Pantry at Catholic Charities to thank the volunteers and staff who show up every day to feed our neighbors. Their work is more important than ever as more families rely on local support. Proud to help awareness of the programs and https://t.co/pAtNOKrIFe”.
Later that evening, at 20:09 UTC, he described participating in an event supporting those affected by recent government actions: “Today, I joined @thejust1project to help distribute food to families impacted by the government shutdown and SNAP benefit lapse.
Hundreds of Nevadans are lining up for help — proof that this crisis is hurting real people. But it’s also proof that, Nevada steps up.
Together, we’re https://t.co/YyyZLka8OV”.
On the same day at 23:41 UTC, Horsford addressed national security concerns related to nuclear policy decisions: “Nuclear weapons threaten every person on this planet — and President Trump’s reckless decision to resume testing endangers us all.
For decades, presidents of both parties have shown restraint and global leadership. Restarting nuclear tests breaks that legacy — and risks”.
Steven Horsford has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Ruben Kihuen. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973, Horsford currently resides there and earned his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
