U.S. Representative Steven Horsford, who serves Nevada’s 4th district, used his social media platform this week to highlight food security efforts in Las Vegas, comment on the impact of tariffs on local families, and advocate for expanded access to health care.

On September 2, 2025, Horsford posted about visiting a community farming initiative alongside a local chef. He wrote: “Over the weekend Chef Kwame and I toured the Obodo Urban Farm to discuss solutions for food security in Las Vegas. Families living in food deserts face real challenges, and that’s why Obodo’s mission to make fresh, affordable food accessible to all families is so critical.”

Later that day, he addressed economic concerns related to tariffs in another post dated September 2, 2025: “Blanket Tariffs = blanket taxes on Nevada families.

Vegas homebuilding is slowing
Prices keep climbing
Families are priced out.
This is the #TrumpSlump in action.”

On September 3, 2025, Horsford commented on recent changes in health care coverage and policy differences between parties. He stated: “When @HouseDemocrats were in charge, 20M+ more people gained affordable health care. @HouseGOP chose tax breaks for billionaires instead. Proud to stand with @RepPeteAguilar & @RepTedLieu urging Republicans to put people over profits and expand access to care.”

Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th congressional district since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973, he continues to reside there today and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in 2014.
