Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently used his social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s economic policies and highlight concerns about healthcare access in Nevada.
On November 13, 2025, Horsford wrote, “Donald Trump ran on the economy — on Day 1, he promised to lower costs. But his #TrumpTariffs & trade war are driving up the price of groceries, gas, and everyday essentials. Nevadans are paying more while he and his friends get richer.”
The following day, marking World Diabetes Day on November 14, 2025, Horsford posted: “World Diabetes Day is a perfect time to remember– that health care isn’t a luxury –, it’s essential.
104,000 Nevadans stand to lose their health insurance right now from Republican cuts, many of whom NEED their coverage to afford insulin and other life-saving medications.”
Later that same day on November 14, Horsford continued his critique of Trump-era policies by stating: “This is all part of the #TrumpSlump. Trump’s reckless tariffs are hitting Nevada hard – driving up prices and squeezing everyday families. He promised to fix the economy, but now Nevadans are paying the price. Don’t believe me? Swipe for the receipts.”
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Ruben Kihuen. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford earned a BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
