Rep. Steven Horsford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, recently addressed several economic and public health concerns in a series of posts on social media.
On December 3, 2025, Horsford commented on the impact of tariffs introduced under former President Donald Trump. He stated, “American families are feeling the squeeze because of the #TrumpTariffs. The average household is paying $1,700 more this year, while Republicans keep bending over backwards to serve corporations over people. Later that day, he discussed legislative efforts aimed at supporting seniors and veterans. In his post from December 3, 2025, he wrote, “.@repjohnblarson, @senwarren and I recently introduced a bill to deliver an economic boost for Social Security and VA beneficiaries because too many seniors and veterans are being squeezed by rising costs. On December 4, 2025, Horsford raised concerns about nuclear testing in Nevada: “Nevadans know the cost of nuclear testing because we’ve lived it in our soil, in our health, and in our history. That’s why Trump’s push to restart atomic tests is more than reckless. It threatens rural towns, Tribal communities, and families who already carry the burden of”.
Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th district since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019. Prior to his service in Congress, he was a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
