Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed a range of issues on his Twitter account between May 15 and May 16, 2026. His posts covered topics from voting rights and environmental protection to honoring military service members.
On May 15, Horsford criticized a recent Supreme Court decision, writing, “When you dilute Black political power, you threaten Black communities. The Supreme Court’s Callais ruling does both. That’s why I’m going to Montgomery tomorrow to stand with thousands who know the right to vote and the right to thrive are inseparable.”
The following day, on National Endangered Species Day, he highlighted the importance of conservation: “On National Endangered Species Day, we’re reminded that protecting our environment means protecting the future for the next generation. Nevada’s public lands, wildlife, and natural resources are part of what makes our state unique. We all have a role to play in preserving them” (May 16).
Later that morning, Horsford recognized Armed Forces Day by acknowledging service members and their families: “Armed Forces Day isn’t just a date on the calendar. It’s a chance to recognize the real people serving in every branch, in every corner of the world, and the families holding things together back home. Today we say thank you, and we mean it. #NV04” (May 16).
Steven Horsford has served as Nevada’s 4th District representative since 2019 after succeeding Ruben Kihuen. He previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 and is originally from Las Vegas, where he continues to reside. In addition to his legislative work, Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
