Rep. Steven Horsford, U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, addressed several key issues in a series of posts on October 21, 2025, including the impact of a government shutdown on federal workers, concerns over law enforcement and political violence, and challenges facing Nevada’s solar industry.
In a post on October 21, 2025, Horsford commented on the effects of a government shutdown: “Had a great conversation with @LasVegasNOW about how this Republican Government Shutdown is hurting hardworking federal employees. Federal workers shouldn’t be punished for doing their jobs. But they’re the ones paying the price. That’s why I introduced the Pay Workers What https://t.co/uWGPTSOOjt”.
Shortly after, he expressed appreciation for law enforcement in another post dated October 21, 2025: “I’m thankful for law enforcement’s swift action to protect Leader @RepJeffries. January 6th was one of the darkest days in our nation’s history. Instead of holding violent rioters accountable, President Trump pardoned thousands of them, many of whom have gone on to commit more https://t.co/BPZnDryA5A”.
Later that day, Horsford highlighted an article addressing renewable energy policy: “Great article by @reviewjournal on how the Trump Administration’s directives have stalled solar costing jobs and investment here in Nevada. Our delegation sent a letter demanding the Interior Department reverse course and let clean energy move forward. Read more here “.
Steven Horsford was born in Las Vegas in 1973 and continues to reside there. Before his tenure in Congress, he served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree. He succeeded Ruben Kihuen as representative of Nevada’s 4th district in 2019.
