U.S. Representative Steven Horsford, who serves Nevada’s 4th district in Congress, has used his social media platform to address rising costs for families and the impact of tariffs on consumer goods, as well as the importance of affordable health care in his state.
On November 16, 2025, Horsford wrote: “Trump promised to lower costs. Instead, prices keep climbing, from utilities to groceries and even your morning cup of coffee.
Tariffs, labor shortages, and supply chain issues are driving costs higher and hitting working families the hardest.
Nevadans are paying more every day”.
Later that day, he continued his criticism of tariff policies by posting: “Tariffs are now threatening holiday budgets and Nevadans will feel it. Under Donald Trump’s plan, artificial Christmas trees and holiday decorations could see price hikes of 10–20% or more as consumers are taxed by his tariffs.
That’s why I’m fighting for real economic relief for” (November 16, 2025).
On November 17, 2025—World Prematurity Day—Horsford highlighted health care access for mothers and newborns: “Today is #WorldPrematurityDay, and it’s a reminder of what’s at stake. In Nevada, thousands of mothers and newborns rely on affordable health care for prenatal visits, screenings, and early interventions that save lives.
If the APTC expires, premiums will spike, and families”.
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th congressional district since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019. He previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973—and still residing there—Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in 2014.
