Rep. Steven Horsford, U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, addressed several ongoing issues facing Nevadans in a series of posts on his official Twitter account on May 9 and 10, 2026.

On May 9, Horsford commented on the state’s housing market, stating: “A slight dip in home prices doesn’t mean Nevada’s housing crisis is over. Too many families are still priced out, competing against corporate investors, rising costs, and a housing supply that hasn’t kept up with demand. The market may be softening, but affordability is still out”.

Later that day, he criticized current tariff policies and advocated for legislative action to provide relief to small businesses and working families: “Small businesses and working families are paying the price for reckless tariff policies they had no part in creating. That’s why I’m fighting for the RELIEF Act to require tariff refunds within 90 days, cut the red tape, and get relief directly back to the people and businesses”.

On May 10, marking National Women’s Checkup Day, Horsford highlighted barriers women face in accessing healthcare: “Too many women are skipping care because of cost or fear of the bill afterward. That’s not okay. Preventive care saves lives, and access to it shouldn’t depend on your zip code or income. On National Women’s Checkup Day, let’s be clear: Nevada women deserve affordable, accessible”.

Steven Horsford has served as a member of Congress since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019. He previously held office in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
