Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th congressional district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues ranging from health care affordability to community service and winter safety in a series of social media posts on December 4, 2025.
In a post published at 13:54 UTC, Horsford criticized recent remarks by the President regarding health care costs and defended the importance of Affordable Care Act tax credits for Nevadans. He wrote, “The President says “affordability” is a Democrat scam. Tell that to Nevadans facing 26% premium hikes because Republicans refuse to extend ACA tax credits. At today’s hearing, I’m asking families what losing these credits really means. Affordability isn’t a scam, inaction is.”
Later that day, at 17:12 UTC, Horsford commemorated the anniversary of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated with a message reflecting on its legacy and his personal commitment as a member. He stated, “For 119 years, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated has stood as a beacon of brotherhood, leadership, and service. As an Alpha man, I strive every day to live the words our Seven Jewels entrusted to us: First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All. Happy Founders’ Day”.
At 19:51 UTC on December 4th, Horsford shared advice for staying safe during colder weather conditions: “Winter’s chill has arrived, and with it, a reminder to stay safe as temps drop. Now’s the time to insulate your home, wrap exposed pipes, bundle up if you go outside, and protect your family from cold-weather hazards. A little prep can go a long way when the temperature drops.”
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District in Congress since 2019 after succeeding Ruben Kihuen; he previously served in the Nevada Senate between 2009 and 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49,1 he holds a BA from the University of Nevada, Reno.2
