Rep. Steven Horsford, a U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, addressed concerns over the rising cost of living and constituent services in a series of posts on September 25, 2025.
In one post at 14:11 UTC, Horsford highlighted increasing expenses for Nevada families: ” Nevada rent averages $1,968/month. Pair that with utilities up to $200, groceries 17% higher, and gas above average… Families are being priced out. #CostofLiving Nevada”.
Later the same day at 15:50 UTC, he reiterated these challenges while referencing political promises about affordability: ” Groceries 17% higher.
Utilities 8% higher.
Housing above the national average.
Nevada families are stretched thin, and the Republican promise to create a “low cost of living” doesn’t match reality. #CostofLiving”.
At 20:18 UTC on September 25, Horsford shared an example of his office’s constituent support efforts: “A constituent came to us after his top-secret clearance had been stalled for months.
With our team’s persistence and follow-up, his clearance was recertified, clearing the path he needs to continue building his career.
Proud to fight for Nevadans every step of the way.”
Steven Horsford was born in Las Vegas in 1973 and continues to reside there today. He graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 before entering Congress.
