Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to express concerns about recent healthcare policy changes and highlight local achievements.
On December 1, 2025, Horsford wrote, “Jennifer’s story shows why I’m alarmed that this administration refuses to extend the premium tax credits. Clinics are already facing grant delays, and the last thing Nevadans need is higher premiums on top of fewer places to get care. I’m fighting to keep coverage affordable and https://t.co/wWTwSz92JX”.
The following day, December 2, 2025, he commented on new federal healthcare proposals: “The latest healthcare plan from the White House is a direct hit to families in NV-04:
It raises premiums.
It rolls back ACA tax credits.
It strips away protections people depend on.
As a mother from North Las Vegas told me, “If my premiums go up again, I’ll have to choose”.
On December 3, 2025, Horsford marked a ceremonial occasion for Nevada: “We can officially say, “it’s time!” I’m proud that this year’s Congressional Christmas Tree made its journey from Nevada to Washington DC. This moment felt especially meaningful because last month, I met with Nevada Forest Service Supervisor Jon Stansfield and State Liaison Cheva https://t.co/iSXhzR1q3F”.
Steven Horsford has served as the representative for Nevada’s 4th congressional district since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019. Before his tenure in Congress began in 2019, he was a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated with a BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
