Rep. Steven Horsford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, has used his social media platform to address concerns about healthcare affordability and rising costs for American families and seniors.
On November 19, 2025, Horsford posted, “I’ve been sounding the alarm for months about our country’s healthcare affordability crisis. Families in Nevada are feeling the squeeze with higher premiums and fewer affordable health plan options. My @HouseDemocrats colleagues and I have been pushing to extend the federal tax https://t.co/D2SxrZN01z”.
The following day, he criticized trade policies in another post: “Trump’s tariffs are driving up the prices on everything, from appliances and electronics to school supplies and tools. As the Supreme Court reviews the legality of these tariffs and the White House continues to rely on emergency powers, one thing is clear: this policy is creating” (November 20, 2025).
Later that same day, Horsford highlighted concerns regarding senior citizens’ expenses: “Medicare Part B premiums are set to jump nearly 10 percent to $202.90/month next year. It’s another hit to seniors who are already facing higher health care costs from Republican “Big Beautiful” bill cuts and their refusal to extend health care tax credits. For the 104,000” (November 20, 2025).
Steven Horsford succeeded Ruben Kihuen in Congress in 2019 after previously serving in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973, Horsford has maintained close ties to his community and currently resides there. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
