Rep. Steven Horsford, U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, posted a series of tweets on July 25, 2025, ahead of a House Ways & Means GOP hearing in Las Vegas. In his posts, he criticized what he called the “One Big Ugly Bill,” outlining potential impacts on Nevadans if the legislation were to pass.
Horsford stated on July 25, “Tomorrow during the House Ways & Means GOP hearing in Las Vegas, I’m bringing receipts. Because when it comes to their One Big Ugly Bill, the facts are the facts.
Nearly 115,000 Nevadans will lose health care.” He further elaborated in another tweet posted the same day: ” Nevada’s GDP shrinks by $95M by 2030.
8,300 clean energy jobs? Gone.
️ Energy costs go up $500/year — and we lose $1,680 in savings.”
In a subsequent tweet on July 25, Horsford added: ” Nearly 115,000 Nevadans will lose health care.
Two rural NV hospitals will shut down.
$9 billion in Medicaid cuts over 10 years.
ACA premiums up 215% in NV-04 = nearly $3,700 more a year.”
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District since replacing Ruben Kihuen in Congress in 2019 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born and residing in Las Vegas, Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
