Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has addressed economic concerns and legislative progress affecting North Las Vegas through a series of posts on social media.
On August 24, 2025, Horsford commented on the state of the tourism industry and related sectors, stating, “Tourism is down. Hotels are emptier. Workers are taking home smaller paychecks. What’s behind the slowdown? Trump’s tariffs & immigration crackdown. #TrumpSlump”
The following day, he highlighted recent developments regarding local economic growth: “For too long, growth at the Apex Industrial Site was stalled by D.C. red tape. That ends now. The new Apex Area Technical Correction Law means more industries, good-paying jobs & economic opportunities for North Las Vegas. Proud to partner w/ @SenCortezMasto & our community” (August 25, 2025).
Later that same day, Horsford expanded on these changes by noting: “For years, DC red tape held Apex back. Today, alongside @SenCortezMasto, we celebrated Apex Act—now law. It cuts bureaucracy, unlocks infrastructure & creates thousands of jobs in North Las Vegas. #NV04 #Apex #Jobs” (August 25, 2025).
Steven Horsford has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Ruben Kihuen and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. He was born in Las Vegas in 1973 and continues to reside there; he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
