Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on July 25, 2025, detailing his recent community engagement efforts and policy concerns.

In a post from July 25, Horsford wrote: “Earlier this year, I launched a feedback portal to hear directly from my constituents, neighbors, and community members. Today, I’m bringing those voices together—gathering leaders and local residents to share their stories and speak truth to power. Join us live:” (July 25, 2025).

Later that day, he commented on the commencement of an official event: “We’re kicking off the Ways and Means Field Hearing in Las Vegas. While Republicans go on their so-called “victory tour,” we’re focused on real people—not just photo ops.” (July 25, 2025).

Addressing specific legislative issues affecting Nevada residents, Horsford also questioned congressional leadership about tax policies impacting gaming losses: ” Today, I asked Chairman Smith: Will you commit to fixing the GOP’s unfair gaming tax — the wagering loss penalty buried in H.R. 1? All we got was a vague promise to “look into it.” That’s not good enough. Nevada needs action. #VegasStrong #FairPlay #NoTaxOnLosses #HR1″ (July 25, 2025).

Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District since replacing Ruben Kihuen in Congress in 2019 and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated with a BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
