Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed health care and economic issues affecting Nevadans in a series of tweets posted on January 8, 2026.
In his first post, Horsford wrote, “ACA tax credits are a matter of life and death for Nevadans. Nearly 15 million people are at risk of losing health care while Republicans prioritize billionaires over working families. I’ve heard from people like Richard, whose insurance jumped from $280 to $1,200 a month after https://t.co/CrrPEZIutX” (January 8, 2026).
He continued to criticize Republican approaches to health care policy in a subsequent tweet: “Republicans want to ‘own’ health care, but there’s no real plan, just political games. This isn’t about politics, it’s about Nevadans’ ability to see a doctor, fill a prescription, and keep their coverage when they need it most. I’m fighting for health care policies that deliver” (January 8, 2026).
Turning attention to the local economy and tourism sector in Las Vegas, Horsford also noted the significance of major conventions: “CES is underway in Las Vegas and brought thousands of visitors to the city at a time when our tourism economy needs every boost it can get. Major events like this help workers, small businesses, and service crews. Unfortunately, short term conventions aren’t enough on their own.” (January 8, 2026).
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th congressional district since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019. Before his tenure in Congress began that year, he served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49 as of the date of these posts, Horsford earned his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
