Rep. Steven Horsford, a U.S. Congressman representing Nevada’s 4th district, used his social media accounts on July 25, 2025, to voice opposition to what he referred to as the “Big Ugly Bill” and announce public actions against it.

On July 25 at 2:57 a.m. UTC, Horsford posted: “So tomorrow, while they spin lies… I’ll be flipping pages and dropping facts. #ReceiptsOnly #OneBigUglyBill #NevadaDeservesBetter”.

Later that day at 2:23 p.m. UTC, he wrote: “Today’s the day. I’m speaking truth to power—starting with a press conference alongside my colleagues and constituents directly impacted by the Big Ugly Bill.

Steven Horsford has served in Congress since 2019 after replacing Ruben Kihuen and previously held office in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there, Horsford earned his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
