Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed key issues affecting his constituents through a series of posts on social media.
On November 1, 2025, Horsford highlighted the potential lapse of SNAP food assistance for nearly half a million Nevadans. He wrote, “Facing a potential lapse of SNAP food-assistance for nearly 500,000 Nevadans, the state is moving quickly – $38.8 million is being rerouted to food banks to shore up that gap. But make no mistake: food banks alone can’t replace the federal program people rely on.”
The following day, on November 2, Horsford shared a message from a constituent and reflected on the impact of current challenges facing seniors. He posted, “Sandi, a NV-04 resident, told me: ‘Please keep fighting for people like me and my grandchildren’s future. We need hope – and we’re counting on you to keep standing up for us.’ Seniors like Sandi have spent a lifetime giving back to their communities. Now they’re the ones feeling https://t.co/Apoce7gibl”
Later that same day, he recognized Native American Heritage Month with another post: “November is Native American Heritage Month, a time to honor the rich histories, diverse cultures, and enduring contributions of Indigenous peoples across Nevada and the nation. Let’s take this month to listen, learn, and lift up Native voice year-round.”
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District in Congress since 2019 after replacing Ruben Kihuen and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford earned his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
