Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several issues on social media ranging from immigration oversight to housing and rising grocery costs.

On August 20, 2025, Horsford commented on media coverage of an ICE facility inspection in Pahrump, stating: “Great @FOX5Vegas coverage showing why Congressional oversight is so important. Here’s what I learned after inspecting the ICE facility in Pahrump:
Medical treatment can take weeks
No reliable access to immigration attys & resources.
Detainees moved w/o notice in the dead of”
.

Later that day, he posted about housing concerns in Las Vegas: “Out-of-state Wall Street firms shouldn’t own thousands of homes in the Las Vegas Valley. I’ve consistently fought corporate landlords driving up housing costs – introducing bill after bill to protect renters, expand homeownership, and put working families first.”

On August 21, 2025, Horsford discussed rising food prices and federal policy impacts: “Monthly grocery bills are climbing beyond what families can afford. Trump’s chaotic tariffs and GOP cuts to food assistance mean prices keep rising and stores may close. Trump promised cheaper prices instead, families are paying more.”

Steven Horsford has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Ruben Kihuen. He previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 and was born in Las Vegas in 1973. He continues to reside there today and earned his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
