Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed a range of topics in a series of social media posts, including healthcare legislation, the Israel-Palestine conflict, and Indigenous community celebrations.
On October 12, 2025, Horsford criticized Republican healthcare policy proposals, writing: “Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill guts Medicaid & Medicare — raising costs for Nevada families and stripping care from those who need it most. While they reward wealthy donors, everyday Nevadans are left fighting to survive. Health care isn’t a privilege — it’s a lifeline. “
The following day, October 13, 2025, Horsford commented on recent developments in the Middle East, stating: “After 2 years of bloody fighting, the last Israeli hostages are home in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners and detainees. While we celebrate each family reuniting today, we cannot forget that many more are left shattered by the Oct 7 attack and the war it caused.”
Later that same day, he highlighted Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebrations in Nevada: “Today, and everyday, we celebrate the contributions of our Indigenous communities. I was proud to join leaders from across Nevada as we lit the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign to commemorate this special day.”
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th district in Congress since 2019, succeeding Ruben Kihuen. Prior to his congressional service, he was a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973, Horsford continues to reside in the city. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
