Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, addressed issues ranging from healthcare affordability to workforce opportunities and support for boxing legislation in a series of posts on December 4, 2025.
In one post, Horsford criticized recent comments by the President regarding affordability programs. On December 4, he stated, “The President may call affordability a Democrat scam, but for Nevadans, it’s the difference between keeping or losing healthcare coverage. The same person who ran on lowering the price of eggs now claims affordability is a ‘con job.’ My constituents know better. Families across”.
Later that day, Horsford announced legislative efforts to broaden employment opportunities. In his post at 21:18 UTC, he wrote, “I am proud to have introduced a bipartisan bill to expand the Work Opportunity Tax Credit. Everyone who wants the opportunity to work deserves a fair shot. For too long, veterans, military spouses, older workers, people with disabilities, and the long-term unemployed have faced”.
Horsford also highlighted his advocacy for boxing reforms relevant to Las Vegas. At 21:59 UTC on December 4 he said, “Las Vegas is the undisputed Fight Capital of the World, and our community knows better than most what boxing means. That’s why I testified before the House Education & Workforce Committee today in support of the Muhammad Ali American Boxing Revival Act, which would update laws”.
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District since 2019 after succeeding Ruben Kihuen and previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
