Rep. Steven Horsford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nevada’s 4th district since 2019, recently used his social media platform to comment on healthcare cuts, tariffs, and representation issues affecting Nevada communities.
On May 12, 2026, Horsford warned about the broader impact of proposed Medicaid cuts on the state’s healthcare system. He stated: “This isn’t just about Medicaid. Nevada healthcare workers, hospitals, community clinics, and families are all warning that these cuts will ripple across our entire healthcare system. Longer ER wait times. Higher costs. More uninsured Nevadans. More pressure on hospitals already”.
Addressing recent legal developments related to tariffs on May 13, 2026, Horsford posted: “Another court ruling. Another reminder that these reckless tariffs were never a real economic strategy. Nevada families paid more at the grocery store. Small businesses paid more across the supply chain. And now the courts keep confirming what we’ve been saying all along. That’s”.
Later that day, he linked representation to economic opportunity in another tweet: “When representation is attacked, economic opportunity is impacted too. The same communities fighting to protect their voice are often the same communities fighting for affordable healthcare, fair wages, housing, and the chance to build wealth. People are paying attention because https://t.co/o6686l5YT2”.
Steven Horsford has served as a congressional representative since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019 and previously held office in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a BA in 2014.
