Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform this week to address concerns about healthcare policy and government funding, as well as to extend holiday greetings to his constituents.
On September 21, 2025, Horsford posted criticism of a recent agreement by Republican lawmakers regarding federal funding and its impact on healthcare. He stated: “The Trump-Republican funding deal drives up costs + rips away affordable care. Democrats have a real plan: Lower healthcare costs Protect affordable coverage for millions Invest in lifesaving cures of tomorrow”.
Continuing his focus on legislative matters, Horsford announced an upcoming online event on September 22, 2025. He wrote: “TONIGHT: Join me tonight for a virtual town hall on the GOP’s looming government shutdown and reckless healthcare cuts. Let’s talk about what’s at stake, how we protect Nevadans.”
In a separate message posted late in the evening of September 22, he offered holiday wishes to those observing Rosh Hashana: “Wishing a joyful Rosh Hashana to all who celebrate. May this New Year bring peace, health, and prosperity to families in Nevada and beyond. Shana Tova! #RoshHashana”
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District since replacing Ruben Kihuen in 2019. Before serving in Congress, he was a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973 and currently residing there at age 49, Horsford graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
