In a post at 14:00 UTC, Horsford highlighted economic pressures facing families in Nevada: “Nevada families are already paying more at the grocery store, and now global conflict and rising energy costs are making things even worse. Grocery prices rose 2.9% in April, the highest increase in nearly two years, as fuel costs, supply chain pressure, and rising transportation” (May 16, 2026).

Nevada’s hospitality workers keep our restaurants, casinos, and tourism economy running every single day. They deserve respect, fair wages, and policies that actually protect tipped workers. That’s why I introduced the TIP Improvement Act to” (May 16, 2026).
Steven Horsford was born in Las Vegas in 1973 and continues to reside there. He previously served in the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013 before being elected to Congress in 2019. Horsford earned his BA from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
