Rep. Steven Horsford, who represents Nevada’s 4th district in the U.S. Congress, used his Twitter account on December 3, 2025, to address issues affecting his constituents and broader national concerns related to economic hardship and food insecurity.
In a post published at 00:37 UTC, Horsford highlighted the efforts of local residents in his district on Giving Tuesday: “On this Giving Tuesday, I’m thinking about everyday heroes across #NV04 – the food bank volunteer in North Las Vegas who knows every senior by name; the coach in Pahrump who drives kids home after practice; the neighbor in Walker River Paiute Nation who checks in when the lights” (December 3, 2025).
Later that day at 01:30 UTC, he addressed economic challenges faced by families in Nevada and criticized former President Trump and Republican policies for rising costs: “The ‘new economic normal’ isn’t just a headline, it’s a daily hardship for Nevada families. Trump and Republicans promised lower costs. Instead, they delivered:
•Higher grocery prices
•Higher rent
•Higher electric bills
•Higher healthcare premiums
A small business owner” (December 3, 2025).
At 02:00 UTC, Horsford focused on hunger and food waste in America while criticizing past federal policies: “Hunger is rising in America while tons of food sit in warehouses and go to waste. Yet Trump administration policies slash nutrition programs and reward the very corporations that let food rot. I’m fighting to strengthen food assistance, protect access to meals, and make sure no” (December 3, 2025).
Steven Horsford has represented Nevada’s 4th District since replacing Ruben Kihuen in Congress in 2019. He previously served as a member of the Nevada Senate from 2009 to 2013. Born in Las Vegas in 1973, Horsford continues to reside there and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2014.
