Former football star and actor Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson recently ended his parole in the state of Nevada and is now a “completely free man,” according to the Associated Press.
Simpson, 74, was granted good behavior credits and discharged from parole effective Dec. 1. He served nine years in a Nevada state prison.
“Details On Yours Truly O.J. Simpson Being A Completely Free Man Now After His Parole Has Ended; The Juice is Loose to Go and Do Whatever He Wants With No Restrictions Going Forward,” Robert Littal BSO wrote in a Dec. 14 Twitter post.
Simpson declined an immediate interview and his attorney declined to talk about Simpson’s future plans, including whether he intends to remain in the state of Nevada.
“Mr. Simpson is a completely free man now,” Malcolm LaVergne Simpson’s lawyer said, according to AP.
The former football player was famously acquitted for the double murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, in what was dubbed “The Trial of the Century.” Simpson was later found responsible for both deaths in a civil trial and was serving time for an armed robbery conviction.
Simpson’s saga makes him, in the words of one of his Las Vegas trial lawyers, one of the most famous people on the planet.
